The growing integration of 5G in vehicle models, increasing vehicle safety, security norms, rising commercial vehicles, and the incorporation of IoT in the automotive industry is expected to be major factor rising demand for connected vehicles in Asia Pacific. According to statistics from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's database, global ICT goods exports (as a percentage of total goods exports) increased from 10.816 in 2015 to 11.536 in 2019. In 2019, these exports totaled 56.65% in Hong Kong SAR, China, 25.23% in East Asia & Pacific, 26.50% in China, 25.77% in Korea, Rep., 8.74% in the US, and 35.01% in Vietnam. According to a recent study, 5G technology connected car sales volume in China would reach roughly 7 million units by 2025, accounting for 40% of the overall connected vehicle sales rate in the country.
